Phase 1-approximately 30 minutes

• Divide into teams of three students each.
1. Internet Researcher
2. Primary Document/Library Researcher
3. Museum Gallery Researcher
• Each team reads through the introduction, task, and process to make sure everyone understands the purpose and guidelines for this activity.
• Discuss findings from museum tour with teammates to check for understanding of the history and significance of the Brown case.
• Each team will be assigned one of three topics for research:
   
1. The Psychology of Brown v. Board of Education : The �Doll Test�
    
2. Investigating �Separate but Equal�: Comparing Schools in the Five Cases
    
3. Crusaders in the Courts: The NAACP Strategy
    

Phase 2-approximately 60 minutes

• Use the resources provided in your case files to answer the questions posed for each topic.
• Each team member is expected to contribute equally to the group project in order to adequately understand and analyze the issues covered.
• Record data and findings into the research file provided in your case packet.

Phase 3-approximately 60 minutes

• Review your research findings with your teammates and begin discussion of case file questions.
• Cooperatively create a PowerPoint slide show to illustrate your team project and opinions about your research topic. Templates for PowerPoint slides are available on the library computers.

Phase 4-approximately 30-60 minutes

• Each team will give a five minute presentation to the whole class.
